ION REBUILDS THE HOOVER DAM AT PLANET HOLLYWOOD IN LAS VEGAS

Ion Event Services, the special events division of Audio Visual Integration raises the bar again, Las Vegas style with a recreation of the Hoover Dam complimenting the theme of DePuy Orthopedic, a Johnson & Johnson Company’s Mid Year Meeting at the Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino. Custom built 20’ tall Black Canyon rock formations framing a cement slab backdrop, 16’ tall exact replicas of the Winged Figures of the Republic and an 18’ x 11’ cement slab screen surround created a bit of a buzz at the hotel. The design was complete with two custom-built water walls set within two concrete water diversion tunnels placed down stage. Stir in the final ingredients of beautiful theatrical lighting, video and audio design and ION executes another fantastic event. ION overcame many logistical issues to make this event work and managed to be ahead of schedule for rehearsals. Much praise was given from the client and their attendees. “Logistics are always a concern when installing large set pieces and juggling loading dock and ballroom schedules but we have a great team and Planet Hollywood was a pleasure to work with.
